Pre-Op Assessments

Hiya,

I have my Pre-op assessment on June 15th for a discectomy. How long after this am i expected to wait for the actual Op?!

It said in the leaflet a couple of weeks? Is this correct? Am quite nervous as never had an operation done at all!

Hi,

Waiting times for surgical procedures vary from region to region. Why don't you ring the hospital and ask -they're usually pretty friendly.
Or ask when you attend for assessment if you can wait?

Yes i will ask then. Thanks for the reply....... the people i have spoken to seemed to think that it would happen fairly soonish. Eeek!

What exactly do they do in the assessment? Do they take blood? Blood pressure.

Can you tell i am panicking !!
