Pregnancy pains

I have a client who has been coming to me since I started, so almost 4 years, and she has been coming in for a 90 minute hot stone massage every week for over a year now and she just found out that she is pregnant, and she gets very bad morning sickness, like for 5 months, so she had to cancel all of her standing appointments and I won't be seeing her for at least 2 months. I've been through this with her before when she had her second baby so I know the drill, I'm just bummed because that is like $450 a month that I always could count on.

Well, time to make productive use of that time into getting new clients, right?

Whenever I lose a client I tell myself I will have another spot open for a new client. Today I will be giving my last massage to a client moving to NM. She has been coming into me every other week for the last two years. Last week I found her "replacement" already. A new client who wants biweekly appointments.

Do some extra marketing to get a few new clients in. Why not send your client a gift (a fruit basket?? something for the baby?) and some coupons for her friends and family as well. (Feel like experimenting with free half hour coupons?) Enscribe the card, "Something for you and something for your friends and family. Babies arent just stressful on the mom to be."

Seems your client really likes her massage, hopefully she will have friends and family who like it as much as she does. You know she will talk you up when she passes out those coupons.

So, I have noticed when I get big openings of time like this it ends up being for a reason. It is quite a bummer that your client has morning sickness, for you and her.
