if it's -2 at 7pm on a Friday night and you walk up to a quiet intersetion in a semi-industrial, semi-residential neighbourhood and you see a probably crazy / high, chain smoking 45-55 year old blonde woman (missing several teeth) wandering erractically back and forth across the intersection and she asks you, as you try to avoid eye contact, "what time is it sweetheart?" to which you reluctantly respond, " sorry, don't know" because she's now uncomfortably close to you to which she responds as you walk by her, " i'm lost and i can't find my boyfriend" she's probably a prostitute, right? or is she just crazy? i thought street walkers were like a 70s, 80s, 90s or Cuba thing? or maybe i've just lived a sheltered life and hang out in the wrong neighbourhoods. i'm pretty sure i have seen 1 or 2 in the bloor/lansdowne area over the last few years sitting on that bench in front of the nazi/buddhist church on the north side of bloor. is there anywhere they regularly hang out (in Toronto) these days?
