I have a Miniature Poodle which is 3.5 months old. My puppy suffers from very bad separation anxiety and training does not seem to be working. Since I love dogs anyway my wife and me decided to get another dog, so my Poodle will have a companion to be with while we are at work.
The new puppy we got is an Australian Silky Terrier which is 5.5 Months old. Brought the Terrier back home and he was a little bit scared, so I put it in the crate. He was very calm and was sleeping. Poodle was circling around the terrier's crate and smelling. After a while I took the terrier out and my poodle attacked the terrier or at least I think my poodle attacked. Paws to the face like punching action, climbing all over. The terrier was just not in the mood to retaliate it just moved away and my poodle just kept on "charging". I separated them and allowed my poodle to relax for a bit and then tried again and same thing happened. At night when I tried again this time it was the Terrier that was charging my poodle they were both at it. Paws to the face and climbing over each other, etc.
My poodle sleeps in the crate so he does not urine there. I wake up every 4 hours in the night to take him to pee. At 2am I took my poodle out and my poodle went straight to where i am keeping the Terrier (in a blocked out area in the yard) and the Terrier growled and let out a loud bark and my poodle ran away straight away.
I don't know if this is a good sign. I don't know if jumping on each other is just the way dogs are playing and establishing pecking order, etc. Anyone with some expert advise is very much appreciated.
I don't want any of my puppies to get hurt.
