Progress after one month

I've officially been open for a month now (I booth rent in a hair salon) and I added up all my new clients & the amount of money I made, and....
I got 13 NEW clients, five of whom have already come back twice, and I made $745 profit Woooohoooo!

I had to brag, sorry I'm just so excited! I live in a tiny little southern Baptist town, and was a little unsure if I'd be able to do well. And I did!

When you say "profit" I'm assuming that is after rent/etc ~ does that include putting back 1/3 for taxes?

Yes, you did well ~ brag away! Nothing like a little bit of success to boost the ego and calm the fears.

Good job! Good job! NC Kneader has an excellent point - watch out for those taxes because if you don't plan ahead you can get SLAMMED at the end of the year.

We just didn't add our second child to DH's deductions and that pretty much covers it for us. But we put a plan in place for taxes. Keep track!

And congratulations on a successful first month! I live in the "Bible belt" with very conservative, rural folk and have found that once people start just trying it they tell others and things pick up.

cstbrian- You're exactly right! I decided to just ignore the situation, and I haven't heard anything else since then. However, about half of my new clients are her PREVIOUS clients
