Progressively better service?

OK, I have one particularly popular MPA in mind, but this discussion could apply to almost every attendant.

It is no secret that regulars very often receive preferential treatment during a session, and that your initial visit with a new MPA is very likely to include restrictions contrary to reviews posted here on massageplanet.net.

At what point should you start to see those restrictions disappear, and to have a session more similar to those that are publicly posted in this forum?

I have seen this one superstar MPA 3 times now, and although there has been progress, I wonder where that mythical line in the sand might be. At what point do I stop hoping that things will still progress to her "best available effort"... and resign myself to "lack of chemistry, its not going to get any better"?

I realize I have probably NOT reached that point yet, especially since my visits can hardly be called regular.... but I would be very interested in hear the opinions of the veteran MPA fans.

From experience usually the magic # is three. Very magical ...

I have a general guideline that if after 3 visits, things are not progressing, and I don't sense a strong connection, I move on.

I think it's something you can just sense. For me, if a second session is pretty much just a repeat of the first and there's no connection, then I tend to move on.

As long as things are progressing on some level, you're enjoying the sessions, and there is some variety, I'd maybe stick with it ...

As Egg E said, it doesn't hurt to ask. I've done that on a few occasions and generally they seem to appreciate that you want to know their boundaries ...

I have been in the same situation.
I have gone by the 3rd time lucky rule as well. But, if at that point it doesn't measure up see someone else at the same spa and then go back to said MPA.
If its still not to your liking it was not ment to be.

It's like a learning curve where you become more confortable with her and she with you. It's a steep curve at first but by the 3rd session you both tend to know what each other likes and wants and what limits are in place.

If there's a bit of a spark or you think you clicked after the 1st visit go back. If your second visit is better go back. By the 3rd visit it will be about as good as it gets. If you really like the session and her keep going back but don't expect it to get too much better.
