Hi
I am a 38 year old mum of 3 girls. A bit overweight but fairly active.
I have been suffering from a prolapsed disc, which was eventually diagnosed in October 2009. I have had an MRI scan and have now been referred for surgery.
The pain at the beginning was excruciating. I still get pain but not as severe, my left foot is still numb and I have no reflex in my ankle.
The disc affected is L5/S1. The consultant referred me for surgery because of the continued weakness in my leg and foot, however the pain is now almost non existant. I used to get pain when I moved but now find sitting the most painful activity!!
Has anyone had surgery for the same symptoms?? I would love to hear from you with any advice/comments.
Thank you.
