A chiropractor that just offered me a room in his office asked me to accompany him at a public spinal screening.  I'm taking my chair and some biz card and brochures.  I've never done one of these before.  Any suggestions?

Wear comfie shoes! These types of outings can be very busy.  I think the best advice is to know what your intention is in meeting these people.  Is it to have fun and possibly increase your business?  Is it to be serious and possibly increase your business?  Is it to be there to attract people to the chiro?  Is it to educate people about who you are and the work you do?  Is it to get appointments?Most likely it is all of the above and then some.I would take your appt book, brochures and lots of biz cards with you.  I would also take a nice sized posmassageplanet.netoard that has your prices and the techniques displayed so people can read about them while waiting to get chair massage.  Take an electronic massager and extension cord (Thumper Mini-Pro is good for this) and use it in combination with your chair massage technique to save your hands if you get really, really, really busy.Take water and snax.Have an easy way to watch your time per session.Take hand cleanser and antibacterial wipes to clean off your hands and the chair between people.Practice talking about how you would like to continue the work you have started with them during the chair massage and ask them if they would like to make an appointment with you.  Pull out your appointment book while you are talking with them.Optional:  Maybe have a fish bowl and paper/pens for people who get chair massage to register to win a 30 minute massage for free...or better yet....let anyone who wishes to register pay you $5 per chance at winning a raffle for a 60 minute massage (be certain to post what a 60 minute massage costs).   Winner drawn that night..need not be present to win.  You could donate half the proceeds to a local charity which might help getting people to sign up.  Plus if you get their names and addresses you now have a captured market of leads from people wanting massage.Most of all...have fun.

Hi v-child,

Just a suggestion, keep an eye out for the chiropractor putting you in charge of the spinal screenings eventually.  This shouldn't be a concern, and I don't want to burst the exciting bubble you are probably in right now, but just keep it in mind.  It can happen, that you get slowly lulled into this, even if not right now.   Of course, it probably never will be an issue, but I thought I should bring it up, just in case.

If you have a massage chair, now may be a good time to pull it out.
