Just reading the paper and saw this

"Drs in the US have shown acupuncture truly is effective treatment for wear and tear arthritis. Patients given acupuncture along with conventional therapy for 6 months reported a massive 40% decrease in pain level"

Hardly! I've never come across any system of medicine that can make this kind of claim.

As for the US study (if it's the same one I know of), it's worth noting that this was not a study of traditional acupuncture but electro-acupuncture. There are very few genuine studies of traditional acupuncture as it does not readily lend itself to conventional methods of research.
Arthritis is a condition that tends to respond well in the clinic, but I think we are a fair way from PROOF! just yet!
