Proper attire for an interview?

I hope I'm posting this in the right area.

I am graduating in a few weeks, and I am wondering what is considered proper dress for an interview for a bodywork job. I know some places ask you to give a massage as part of the interview process, so I realize the importance of both comfort/practicality and professionalism. I just don't think I have anything that fits into both of those categories.

So, fellow female therapists, what did you wear, and what wouldn't you wear for an interview?

I have always worn comforatble working shoes, nice polo type shirt, and slacks(not dressy slacks, the comfortable kind). The last thing I wore to an interview was a green solid T-shirt and Khaki cargo pants(Both from Old Navy) and tennis shoes. I was already at work when they called for an interview for that afternoon and I had no time to go home and change. I got the job.

When I have gone for interviews I ask whether or not they look for a hands on portion of the interview. Sometimes they say "yes, but that will be conducted on another day". So for the first interview which really is them looking to speak with you to see if you fit in with what they are looking for, I would wear business attire, or even a button down shirt with a pair of slacks. For the 2nd part I would wear my best massage uniform so to speak. If they want it on the same day, I would make sure to wear a respectable short sleeve shirt under a sweater or jacket.

I would wear nice pants, short sleeve shirt or blouse and jacket and nice low heel loafer type shoes. I always want to dress my best but if a massage demo must be done on the same day, I just peel off the jacket and I'm ready to go.
Remember, first impressions last so really take the time to shine when you enter for interview. I've read that employers make their hiring decision in the first 3-7 min. of an interview so let them see your attitude, enthusiasm, desire, ambition and personal skills!
Come ready with a list of questions for them. Reasearch the job you're applying for. That lets them know you care enough to know what types of service they offer. OK, I could go on & On but Good luck.
