Prosper City shut down?!

Just saw on the news that they busted the owner of Prosper City under the new human trafficking laws. The "female" reporter used words such as "sexual slaves", "indentured servitude" etc. etc. blah blah. Oh yeah, poor girls! They are making more than a lot of their customers!

The building on the video showed "prosper city massage" but they mentioned a different name. I'm guessing it's the other location they were talking about. I've only been to the Main St. location. When they went into the building it SURE looked EXACTLY like New Prosper. Exact same front desk and everything.

If it's the same owner then I would guess they would shut down both! Apparently the new owners son got busted for running a grow op at the same time when they raided their homes.

Anyone have more details??

From Sonny: Mustardman's comments about a grow-op do not apply to the new owner nor to his family, perhaps they refer to the previous owner of King City Massage. Prosper's owner is not in any way involved in any of the police charges. Prosper City is doing business as usual in both locations.

Well I'm a bit confused now. The news story implied that it was Ng that recently bought the Prosper city business(es?). Not the other way around. The story specifically talked about the girls working at these establishments right now. Not a couple months ago. I don't see how the previous and past owners and the girls currently working there could possibly be all unrelated to what is happening NOW.

Unless the news story got it totally wrong which would not suprise me. From the very beginning the "female" reporter was obviously looking for the "exploited women" angle. As long as it is business as usual with the same great lineup at New Prosper on Main then that is all I care about!

I am the owner of Prosper City, and my name is NOT Michael Ng. I am not a middle-aged Chinese man. I operate Prosper City on Main Street. Recently there was a business that was offered for sale. That business was King City Accupressure and Massage on Kingsway, owned by Michael Ng. I was not aware of any criminal charges laid against Mr. Ng. I purchased the assets of the business and took over the location, renaming the business to Prosper City with new signage as a second location. Mr. Ng has NO connection with me, Prosper City, and NONE of the hostesses working at King City for Mr. Ng were assumed by Prosper City. My legal counsel is dealing with misrepresentations in the media.

Good for you hard_pressed. You run a good business with happy ladies and you should not have to suffer from careless reporting on a previous business owner totally unconnected to you.

I have always liked Prosper City. Always had great service. Best of luck to Hard_pressed, there is no way this guys operation is in any way forcing his staff to work there.

I feel sorry for you because you seem to run a very up front business and the girls seem to have alot of fun with there customers! I think you should take a run at the news agency for miss reporting the facts! What news station was it that reported this?

Hi everyone,

I use to frequent King City before it was sold to Prosper City and there was this old Asian man there (my guess he was Michael). The girls there were mostly Chinese and spoke very little English. My guess is that they were refugees, so that would link the news line to human trafficking.

The funny thing is, I drove by Kingsway location yesterday and did indeed sees a news team standing just in front of Petro Canada on the street looking like they were ready to do a news story. Good thing I wasn't visiting Prosper..as I would have hated to get an interview.

Hard_pressed, I also must say that you run a good center and the girls are a pleasant experience.

If anything, sometimes I think the news like to blow these things out of proportion as they do with most stories, but it won't deter me. I'm too addicted.

Definitely not a deterrence. I was just concerned that the whole operation had been shut down which would have prevented me from partaking in the the fine lineup! Personally I don't give a flying F%&K about the media or someone seeing me or whatever.
