CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The Charleston Police Department says a massage parlor in Kanawha City has been closed “indefinitely” due to an ongoing investigation.
According to the CPD, the department’s Special Enforcement Division executed a search warrant at a business in the 5400 block of MacCorkle Avenue around 11 a.m. Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation. Police say the investigation surrounds “massage parlor operations involving female employees.”
Police say during the search warrant, they seized “multiple pieces of evidence.”
Officers say male clients had allegedly been going into the business for a “set rate” massage. During that massage, the clients were allegedly offered sexual acts for additional charges ranging from $60 to $200.
The CPD says female employees at the business were also allegedly advertising sexual acts on “a website known for prostitution.”
This is an ongoing investigation, and the CPD says there will be charges forthcoming.
