To be honest the damn things are such a nuisance in the country, knocking down fences and taking water needed for stock.........

Kind've mate actually, it reminded me of a news report of a guy who'd been clawed while at a picnic spot in the Grampians, the roo left massive cuts all down the guys torso and legs when it kicked him............

Seriously, if you see them at zoo, enclosure etc etc, enjoy them for the unique animals that they are, if you're at a good restaurant and they've got jump-steak on the menu, then try it, you might like it and it's low in cholesterol too, so totally heart-safe..........

And if you're out in the countryside, (shooting) and you put one down, don't worry about it, farmers consider them vermin and your dog/s, (if you have one with you) will really enjoy it too.......... hyeah:

Well, they're officially a protected species across all States & Territories under the Native Fauna Act, (ie: all varieties of kangaroos and wallabies), however, in a rare show of common-sense from the government, the five main species are commercially harvested annually in order to keep their numbers at an acceptable level.... and to reduce the damage that they cause.........

Authorities at local levels also tend to turn a blind eye to farmers/hunters, providing they don't go overboard with their culling.... :hgun:
