Quickbooks or Customer Pro (landsw)

I purchased customer pro and have entered my business expenses thus far but I don't find that portion of the program to be as user friendly as I had hoped. It is hard to search for all the expenses under one category and there is a limited number of expense descriptions that you can add to the drop down bar among some other limited flexibility. But I really wanted an all in one program for my business.

Do any of you have this problem too where you use customer pro for customers but not for your expenses? Or do those of you who have customer pro find that it fits your needs well in tracking expenses?

I've never used Quickbooks but if it has a lot more capabilities I may need to use both. If you have Quickbooks can you tell me what you think of it?

Hello,

I'm not sure about Customer Pro but I do know quite a bit about Quickbooks... so I'll take a shot at answering your question.

I've used Quickbooks and Quickbooks Pros for about 7 years now to run both my offline and online businesses. I started with standard Quickbooks in 1999 and when I expanded my massage business into a full-blown massage center, I switched to Quickbooks Pros because of adding retail product sales.

I don't know about the other program but Quickbooks is extremely powerful. It can give you a lot of really good financial info like balance sheet or current year vs. previous year comparison (great for tracking busy and slow seasons).

Quickbooks itemizes all of your expenses. You can create new categories or even sub-caeforum.xxxories so you can track how much you spent on something like different types of advertising.

Also, Quickbooks has an export feature where you can export just the info your accountant needs to do your taxes.

I definitely would recommend Quickbooks just for handling the accounting and financial part of running your massage business.

Customer/client database... I still use a Microsoft Access database that my wife built me years ago when we were just dating. It might be marital suicide if I switched database programs now.

I use quickbooks - have for years and this past year when I upgraded I also got the program Customer Manager (came free with my program) from quickbooks. It keeps all of my client info and appointments and syncs with quickbooks - a very powerful combo. I used to use several programs to keep the info in, but now I just use quickbooks. I also have customer profile but was totally unimpressed with it.

Thanks! I actually went ahead and recently bought Quickbooks home and business. I was impressed with the demo online and was not satisfied with Customer Pros limited invoice capabilities. I will still use both but for separate things.
