The crackdown came after a flood of community complaints, authorities said. Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers, working with the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal and Building Inspector, hit Vivio Foot Spa at 218 Middle Country Road and Maple Foot Spa at 514 Middle Country Road, Suite 22.

Two employees at Vivio Foot Spa — Li Juan Wang, 37, of Flushing, and Li Chang, 56, of East Elmhurst — were arrested at the scene, police said.

At Maple Foot Spa, a third woman, Hong Mei Chuan, 42, of Flushing, was taken into custody, according to police.

All three were charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession. They were issued Desk Appearance Tickets and are expected to appear in First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
