Recommendations for massage music.

I'm in need of some new meditative music to play during my clients sessions.

I like deeply relaxing alpha brain wave, meditative music, but I don't like too much deep ooohs and aaaahs, I like for it to actually sound like music, not just sound waves, if that makes sense. I like some tracks to have a real beat and rythm to them as well that I can get into while I'm moving around the table.

I would love to find some tibetan crystal bowl music that I like. I did purchase a new CD of tibetan bowl music recently and only a few tracks were what I was expecting. Some of the other tracks were just way too "jazzy" for massage, it was a bit of a disappointment.

Any recommendations for tunes that really zone you out and send you into orbit?

Personally, I like some Deuter songs and dislike others (I test them on Pandora.com). You may need to be a bit choosey with this artist, if you don't want too many highs and lows.

I just got an album by Jami Sieber called 'Hidden Sky' LOVE LOVE it. Not synthesized at all. Too much of that annoys me. I like a more pure sound if that makes sense. 2 of the tracks have some vocals, but there was only one that I don't use. I also LOVE Anaguma's albums 'Shamanic Dream' there's also a 'Shamanic Dream II' both fantastic and you can drone right out with it.

I'm not sure if this will be a good fit for your taste, but it may be. Try the group "2002" | song: "Lady of the Moon". I am listening to it on Pandora right now. It's a bit ethereal with some "ahh-ahh" sounds in it. Possibly it is similar to what you are looking for.

I will certainly check that out! Just the name "cats sleeping on clouds" sounds good to me! I have a crazy cat lady client (and musician) who would probably love that!

Deuter has been around for 30 some odd years and has many albums out there. By far his top 2 medatative ones are: Buddha Light Healing and Koyasan Reiki.

He got together with Kamal and Anugama and put out a few very medatative songs as well. I found them all on Itunes.

A little late to the thread here, but any suggestions or comments on internet/satellite radio? Have a couple different radio apps on my phone (HTC Droid Incredible), and then of course there is always Sirrus and XM. Any particular brand that has better selections for massage than another? Anyone have specific reasons for not using these mediums?

One of my instructors suggested not using music over 60 beats per minute for relaxation massage. The subconscious will affect the physical, raising heart rate/respiration/brain activity, the opposite of the desired effect. Made/makes sense to me. A case of where less is better, maybe.
