Reflexology and Rugby players

Hello...

I'm looking for a bit of advice, and was wondering whether anyone could help.

Tomorrow l have an appointment with the Sports therapist from a local towns rugby club who is interested in reflexology, but doesn't know anything about it, so he's coming to the clinic for a chat and l can explain about reflexology to him and he can then refer his players to me if he thinks it will help...

I have spent all weekend collecting information for him to take away and read at his leisure, but also prepared a mini presentation for him, with charts etc...

I will also offer him a free treatment so he can have a hands on experience of the therapy.

Can any one make any suggestions of anything else l can do or has anyone had any dealings with treating players...

Hi. He is just another potential client whatever he does. Mind you if it was massage he was after that would be different, boy are rugby players hard work to do, they are totally solid.

I would just go for the treatment and give him a brief explanation and literature to read. You don't want to overload him with info, he doesnt need to know that much. In my experience with reflexology it is the treatment that counts and so you need to get your hands on him and that will convince him of it's effects and benefits.

And talking of solid bodies...having spent the whole summer carrying out sports massage on the Channel swimmers from around the world who have come to Dover, to do their swim. I'm finally getting used to dealing with solid bodies..... mind you it's been a wonderful experience meeting them and listening to their stories of their swims, and l feel privilaged to have treated them before and after the event...

Off topic I know, but there you go! The worst one I had was a man booked in by his tiny five foot wife. He was late for his appointment and I had written him off when I noticed a dark shadow pass the window (I could barely see the top of his head!) he filled the doorway as he approached but it was when I saw him duck to get through the door that my heart sank. I had already had a tiring day so my heart sank when I saw him.

He was six foot eight and solid. I honestly thought I wasn't making the slightest impression upon him but he was doodle-allie by the time I had finished and could barely string a sentence together. He was a lovely man but you can imagine how I felt when he rebooked!
