Reflexology following operations

Hi,

I have recently qualified in reflexology, but have yet to practice. I would like to get some advice regarding reflexology treatment following operations - should you avoid a whole treatment until a certain time, should you avoid the area which was operated on for a certain time ? Namely, someone I know had their appendix removed just over 3 weeks ago - how long should I await before trying any treatment on them ? I am desperate to help their recovery and believe it would help,and understand that I would require their GP's consent, but wanted some guidelines.

Is anyone able to help advise ?
