Reflexology in Lanzarote

I qualified in 2004 through the Sue Ricks school in Loughborough. This year we plan a move to Lanzarote where I hope to work as a reflexologist. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice regarding insurance or membership of bodieswhen workingin Spain?? Anyone with any experience?

Hi the only experience I have had really is not me in particular but a friend of mine.

She is hoping to move to Canada soon and she wanted to do reflexology out there but it would not be a recognised qualification. So she will continue with hairdressing and look at therapies whilst out there. It may be different in Lanzarote. She spoke to the British Embassy and i think the citizens advice bureau. Who are you registered with? What professional body? It may be worth speaking to them to find out if your qualification(s) is recognised there.

Oh Julia, how lovely for you to be moving to Lanzarote. I couldn,t help replying to your post, even though i cannot offer any advice. Like you my dream is to move to Spain to work as a reflexologist, but i think my dream is a long way off (have to convince hubby first!!) So i just wanted to wish you the very best of luck, i am sure you will have lots of customers - the expat community at the very least. The only piece of advice i can pass on is when i asked my teacher about what would happen should i wish to work in another country in the future was that she said i may need to sit an entrance exam to practice in that country if my qualification wasnt recognised by that country. I will be watching replies to your post as it has great interest to me.
