The same could be said for Reiki, I dont see it as a pampering treatment but when i do pamper evenings the Reiki is always very popular as people opt for it to see what it is like, they are curious and thats not a bad thing. The same could happen to Reflexology. If just a few people who have heard of it but not taken the leap to try it give it a go, you are educating them, and they may help spread the word about holistic treatments. Of course you need to take into consideration the impact of the consultation process on your timings and ability to treat a certain amount of people. Are you taking another therapist along with you?
I always take my flyers and set up an advertising table, then i lay out some consultation forms, information about my treatments and also an appointment sheet so folk can write down their names next to a time.
I always take a friend of mine who is also a therapist as i dont like the conveyor belt system of one in one out, if someone opens up i like to give them my time .. you need some flexibility. It all depends where you do this pamper evening, at a friends house? your house? or in a conference room in a hotel or bar etc....you have more control over something more organised and on a small scale. If its in a hotel or bar then put on your flyers that folk can pre book to ensure they get a treatment on the night.
Its a great way of getting new clients if you need them, meeting new people, talking about things you are passionate about and just letting folk know where you are if they need you. Go for it and have a great time!!!
