reflexology should begin on the left foot or right foot?

Hi everyone

im studying reflexology and ive found two different articals in two different books one stating you should always begin reflexology on the left foot and one stating you should always begin on the right foot, which one is correct? can anyone help? thanks

I always start with the right foot, even if I do a foot massage, I will always start with the right

The truth is that everybody has their own idea. It is a commonly held belief in reflexology that you start on the right foot to go with the flow of digestion.

Others believe that the right foot is associated with the logical/masculine left side of the brain, and the left foot associated with the intuitive/feminline right side of the brain. So the left foot is worked first for women and right foot first for men. Some therapists say that they would always start on the left side as that is the side of the heart, because of its psychological and physiological connotations.

These are all just a belief systems. There is nothing wrong with belief as energy follows thoughts, which then provide balance and healing to the organ systems.

What I do is hold each foot for a moment and use intuition to make the decision on which foot to start first, and don't follow dogmatic rules.

So to answer your question, it doesn't really matter! Go with your gut feelings or the principle that makes sense to you.
