Hi tottie
I see that you have had lots of people reading your post but no replies. Are you a Reflexologist yourself or is it you who wants the treatment?
If you're the therapist then before you give a treatment to an epileptic then you should do a full and thorough consultation with them to find out how bad the epilepsy is, how often they have fits, what happens to them during, and how they recover from the fits, what kind of treatment they are receiving from doctors, specialists or any other therapists etc. Get a full picture of whats going on so that if you give a treatment you can closely monitor its effects and be aware of any changes to their health.
Please forgive me if you are a Reflexologist 'cause you probably already know this, but this is what I would do and then decide how to proceed because each person is individual.
If the fits are bad then you might be wise to get the client to have a word with their doctor before going ahead, although in my opinion this is a tricky one because some doctors think that Reflexology is a waste of time, some think it has value, whilst others just won't commit themselves.
If it where me and I had decided to give a treatment then I would start off with a few treatments that are very light and just relaxing really and maybe not for the full 45/50 mins and then work your way up, consulting with your client at each session to see if therewere any side effects or changes to their health.
I hope this helps and I haven't waffled on too long!
