Reiki I - Attunement - Huge Healing Crisis!

Dear all,

I have just recently received my Reiki I attunement and just coming towards the end of what I think was the healing crisis people describe. I'm worried however because mine seemed much more intense than most of the posts I can find online.

In particular during this healing crisis my period started and was very heavy with big blood clots. The last I ever saw like this was when I lost my baby in 2008. I would have thought my periods since I lost the baby would have cleared my womb out completely but is it possible it did not and the Reiki attunement finally shifted this for me? I didn't experience pain this time but did have a few contractions (not cramps) which was extremely odd. It is not possible I could have been pregnant on this last cycle.

I also seem this last week to have re-experienced anything and everything else I have ever suffered from physically, albeit a milder form. I had very bad acne as a teenager and it flared up all over my face, my knee started aching (an old injury) and I had cold sores, UTIs, thrush and flu! For the first few days I was in bed with a nasty fever and it was so bad I wondered if I was just unlucky and caught a virus. But I had so many symptoms all at once so it seemed more than that and inside I didn't feel bad, it was a very odd mix of re-experiencing but being okay. Also the last time I followed a detox I could smell cigarette smoke coming out of my pores when I took a hot shower and I experienced that again. I do not smoke but my father did smoke inside our house when I was a child and I would have inhaled second-hand smoke.

I have trawled through the internet looking for similar experiences but it seems that most people just have no healing crisis to some flu-like symptoms and discomfort. I generally consider myself to be quite a healthy person so I'm not sure why I was beaten with the detox stick so to speak?! I hope that there is nothing wrong with me or the Reiki attunement.

Hang in there, it is not abnormal, but yes on the severe side.

My advice is to drink plenty of water and keep practicing on yourself every moment you can. It seems you body was just waiting for the chance to purge a lot of this old stuff you've been hanging on to.

You body can hold onto toxins, viruses, bacteria, all kinds of stuff for years and years,until there is a trigger for it to break free and affect you once again. There is nothing wrong with you or the attunement.

While it might not seem like it, it is fantastic that all this is coming out! Make sure you are eating good foods, fruits, veggies, live good food, to support your body.

If you have more questions, let me know and I'll be glad to assist you. Hang in there, it should start to get better. This purge usually lasts 21 days but can sometimes be 6 weeks or more.

I agree that this was an intense healing/clearing event for you. Besides watching the heavy period just continue - if it doesn't slow down & clear out you may need to see your doctor. Personally I would see a good herbalist, Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, or an acupuncturist - but that's me.

You may end up needing some iron support - such as Floradix which you can get at healthfood stores, along with Black Cohosh. You don't give your age - but if you're in your mid to late 30s or in your 40s sometimes the periods can change from the norm & get very heavy, last longer than normal (like a couple of weeks or a couple of months!) Otherwise yes, it's possible that the intensity of the 1st Attunement can be huge & cause very heavy flows. In your case - my 1st thought was that you are clearing out cysts or fibroids in some form.

Hopefully things will settle down sooner than later for you. Use essential oils to balance your emotional states if needed & consider doing nice warm baths with loads of sea salt as a gentle energetic clearing for your body. Other than that be sure to eat well & take care of yourself, with lots of high quality water, and do your best to avoid stress or working to hard over the next few weeks.

need some suggestion....i have done my level 2 Reiki but still have not been able to quit smoking. I smoked during the first 21 days post level 2 atunement as well....how do I quit....
