Anyone else remember the massage studios in hotels. Driving downtown and parking my 62 impala in the underground parking in the library. There was a pedway that led to the Weston. There was a massage place there, I think her name was Ann, an older blond, and I believe the price was $18. and she made you feel like a king. There was also one in the Edmonton inn, and one upstairs in the Mayfield. In the late 70's there was one in the Terras inn on the south side. By then the prices increased to 60 to leave relaxed. Anyone have any favourites from way back?

Terrace in on the south side. I would go to lions head pub for a drink then off the the massage room. i completely forgot about the Mayfair. I was there a couple of times. Those old girls of yesterday knew what we wanted and how to please. But maybe I was just young and stupid. LOL

I was not quite of age in 1974, but can relate to the golden age of massage and masseuses in Toronto area in the late 80s, early 90s. Mostly European ladies, divorcees, who seemed to enjoy not only the money they made, but many seemed to enjoy having fun in their daily work. These ladies were real women, elegant, communicative. The Asian scene today is mostly sad, very sad compared to what I remember. Or was it just my youthful brain? Now, got to find myself a 1962 Impala, yeah .

This is my take. Yes, in this business the ladies always were in it for income. But in the not so distant past, a reasonable proportion of them actually enjoyed their work, as in the example of East European divorcees that I mentioned in an earlier post. FS was not a mandated part of their business, but time to time some of them indulged not only for extra money but because they were horny. Culturally they were feeling ok about mutual pleasure and they viewed it as an added benefit. To put it bluntly, if they liked you, they wanted action, satisfy their own itch, both in and out of the spa or clinic.
The Chinese, by and large, especially from current day China are culturally different. Personal pleasure seeking or hedonism is not ok. Wanting material goods, houses, cars, LV handbags etc is their inner life, thereby the total focus is on quick money only. Mutual pleasure is not really on the map, except for the pretend stuff. (I appreciate that once in a blue moon we discover an exception, my last one was a married masseuse about 3 years ago).

By the way, this post is not about racial differences, but about how culture shapes our outlooks on life. We do need more ladies from Eastern Europe and Russia coming our way .

Denise at Head to Toe was my go-to for some years. Saw her away from the studio for a while, we had a weird sort of relationship. She became quite ill and left the biz completely to look after herself. Once of the nicest women I've ever known.
