Renting out your chair

I have been asked if I would rent out my chair for a day.

What should I charge?
Do you figure it by hour or just a set price for the day?

I've never rented out my chair... but I know my MT teacher in Madison, WI used to rent one from a colleague for $10 per day when he needed one.
I know that for the most part my chair "gets out" maybe twice a month at most. :

How well do you know and TRUST the person wanting to rent it? Most mechanics won't loan or rent any of thier tools, because they know that either they won't come back at all, or they'll come back damaged and dirty.

I wonder if $10 is enough...the durn chair cost me about $400. On a good day a person can make quite a lot of money with the chair, like half the purchase price...I guess I'm not in favour of renting my chair...good luck if you decide to rent yours! mk

I will be "renting" the chair out to a massage therapist that I know for one night. I totally trust her with it. I just want to charge her something to keep it professional. Hopefully it is just a one time thing.

$15 sounds ok, I was thinking more like $20-$25, but I don't want to be charging her too much.

Renting a chair seems much cheaper than I thought. I am still glad that I own my own.
