STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A client of Massage Envy in New Springville is suing the business for unspecified damages after she claims she ended up with a torn meniscus in her left knee, according to the NY Post.

Angela Gaudioso-Klein claims a "reckless" therapist at the spa caused damage in her knee during a November 2015 massage, which resulted in the need for surgery, the report says.

The lawsuit accuses the massage therapist of negligence.

Massage Envy didn't immediately respond to Advance queries for comment. A representative of the company told the NY Post the spa only hires licensed massage therapists.
