Hello, I'm american and am trying to understand the way you're all describing the canadian money.

One person in this thread claimed he paid "3 reds", one claimed that "3 reds is $.50", and another person in this message claimed "paid $.5".

But elsewhere on this message board it states that a red is $50.

Can someone clear this up?

Our money is coloured. Brown is $100cdn, red is $50cdn, green is $20.

I believe the dollar sign ($) can also stand for a brown. Therefore, $$ = 2 browns = $200. $.50 must mean $150.

I'm new here as well so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
