I have the book "A Massage Therapist's Guide to Pathology" 2nd Edition and thus have the information in that book on Rheumatoid Arthritis, if and when to massage among other things...Has anyone else ever dealt with clients with this? ย I have one right now that is soon being evaluated by a Rheumatologist for this possible pathology.Can anyone else throw suggestions my way as to where I can do some research on this condition?Any suggestions would be GREATLY Appreciated and Thank You!Sincerely,CaringHandsMss :)
 
CaringHands my wife has had RA for 10 years... that's one of the reasone I started studying MT. I'm sure your book tells you that some types of massage are contraindicated at certain times. ย Are there specific questions I can help you with?

If there is an acute flare up, do not work the joints. Even when no/little RA pain is present, always work within the comfort zone when ROM and stretches.
