LAS VEGAS — The future is here and it's super comfy and relaxing.
Bodyfriend is a wellness company based in South Korea that makes extremely intricate massage chairs and medical devices to help you relax. Their latest creation, called Aventar looks more like a luxury sports car than something that will give you an impressive massage.

The luxury chair, that Bodyfriend says was actually inspired by a sports car, has sleek lines and the models at CES were a shiny red and silver. The bucket chair envelopes your entire body, simultaneously massaging the fronts and backs on your arms, legs, hands shoulders, back, butt, neck and head.

When you sit in the chair it scans your body and creates a special massage just for you by measuring your shoulder height and width, leg length, weight and height. Using its connected app, you can set preferences for individual users, and set specific massages for certain areas of your body, so if you just want to get a pain out of your feet and don't want the full experience, you can select just a foot massage.
The chair is also heated, has audio guidance and has a 5.1 speaker system that you can connect to your TV via Bluetooth. Of course you can also hook it up while you're playing video games to have the ultimate relaxing gaming experience.
I wasn't able to try the Aventar but I was able to test out one of Bodyfriend's other models, and it was unlike any massage chair I've ever experienced.
Bodyfriend plans to launch four stores in the Los Angeles area in 2017, and has high hopes of opening 150 across the U.S. in the next five years. They currently have 115 in South Korea. But its stores are more than just a chair store, some features cafes and have more of an Apple Store vibe than a Brookstone.
While pricing information for the Aventar wasn't available, Bodyfriend's other models can cost upwards of $10,000 so this is definitely a luxury product. However, the company is hoping to attract millennials and break the stigma that massage chairs are for old people with its lease to own program that it says was wildly successful in South Korea.
The Aventar is slated to be released in the U.S. in 2018.
