RnT covered under insurance

I guess you can call me a cheapo but I was wondering if there was any massage therapy or anything that I can claim with my health insurance at the office?

Let me know, maybe some of us employed guys can save some $$.

You should first start with y our insurer and ask them who they cover and what professional designation, if any, they have to have.

The answer is maybe. What you should do is ask the girl for an itemized invoice describing the service. You know the regular stuff, BBBJ, Rimming, Ass to Mouth, Hj etc. Then take that to your insurer or HR person and ask how much of it your benefits will cover.

was talking to a friend of mine and he was saying his work reimburses him the cost of the massage if he has referal notice from a doctor and the place has a valid license.

worth a shot i guess.

Those who end up a RMT make a career out of it. They will not risk under any circumstances one of their clients contacting the CMTBC or MTABC and have their license and designation revoked.

There not rmt's, they have other massage certificates that are easiar to get and the insurance doesn't cover the whole rate the just the or massage rate and the tip covers the rest

Most of us are not planning a trip to Bangkok any time soon. . Nice attempt at baiting though.

Any way, I have yet to see any insurance in BC cover any massage, at any price, other than a RMT. Insurance companies have caps (annual limits). In BC, Health Insurance BC (MSP) no longer covers massages, physiotherapy, or chiropractic work unless you have an extended plan with MSP. Nuff said on this topic.

Where I worked It was covered by extended benefits not msp And that was 4-5yrs ago and it wasn't just Rmt... I'm sure your an expert or insurance agent boob or your a super FLAMMER lol

Many things that were covered then are not now. I can assure you it (physio, chiro, massage, etc)is not covered through MSP any longer.

In order to be "covered" by any health plan the masseuse has to be REGISTERED (a license number used to bill) . Due to professional ethics that RMT's are bound to and legal/malpractice suits... no RMT will do what you seek.

There are other massage licenses given by municipalities but they are not of the RMT version Those are handed out by the city to ladies that work at the rub and tugs.

I don't think you are a bull shitter you just lack the knowledge of the "system".

most r&t at the semi-legit places are something close to 40 dollar, but then there's the tip aspect on top of that...

the place dip refers to is one of these and, if you've been into the r&t scene in van at all, i'm sure you're already aware of it.

I'm going to stand-by my statement that there are no legit or semi-legit places in town that offer R&T WITH a RMT (Registered Massage Therapist). People are often free to call themselves whatever they want a, but there are no RMT that do R&T in town unless it's to their boyfriend. Next time anyone goes to Hawaiin, ask the girl who gives you a R&T if she's a RMT and see what her answer is. If she is a RMT, her diploma should be on on the wall and you can easily verify it if with the College or Association. And for $40?! That's too good to be true. Like Hubba Hubba wrote, "Nuff said. I think some people are confusing RMTs and CMT and Licensed Spa Practitioners. RMT's in BC pay about $30K and go through 3 years of very intense training. You MAY find one or two GRADUATES who have passed exams who would do R&T as the money is probably better. But to waste all that skill and training just to tug a dick seems pretty pointless to me, especially at the cost of losing your license and potential for RMT work in the future. After that you may find a few more who did NOT pass their exams. Beyond that a few more who never finished school ,dropped out.

I think the bulk of what people are talking about are maybe licensed spa practitioners or CMT's who have taken various short term courses.
