Hello Everyone,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Chris Roloff, I live in Minnesota and I'm Vice President of ROM-T Enterprises LLC. We will soon be manufacturing a massage table unlike any other table currently on the market neither in the U.S. nor overseas. The ROM-T allows for 360 degree range of motion in the shoulder and hips without your client having to move to the edge of the table. It also allows the massage therapist to get directly over their client rather than have to bend over the table to get to the area you are working on. The table will come with a 3" 2.25 density foam, Vinyl, face cradle, arm rest and carrying bag. The table will weigh between 30-35lbs completely made of aluminum; easily adjustable legs with a spring system so you don't have to manual unscrew knobs. This table is a new concept and made in the USA. We will be at the national AMTA convention in September, hope to see you there!

This must be a prototype pic as it has knobs and is a wooden table.

Interesting concept though... would like to hear more as it progresses.

Hello pueppi,

We will be introducing two tables at the AMTA in Minneapolis. I attached pictures of each table. Here are some of the changes to the table: weight 45-50 pounds, it will feature a wood top/frame, Carrying bag will include wheels and in the mean time ROM-T will be made in China. We will be in booth 521 at the convention please stop by ask questions and get a pen.

Thank you for the update. The 50lb. weight is a bit much for my taste. But, anything mobile is always nice, as I am a "be able to handle things myself" kind of gal. Which means, even though I have many items that are not moveable by one person, I definitely like to have the option to move things single-handedly when possible. So, at least, although heavy, this could be moved by one person without a problem. I'll equate it to a 50lb. bag of dog food.

Just a thought here, but you could consider to make the stable chest peice just a tad wider (possbly another version of the table) and you may get a crossover of the chiropractic market... just as long as you made the base stable enough to handle the adjusting process. I see where it would be nice for someone who is dually licensed (LMT, DC -- maybe even a DO or PT)to have the option of a massage table that would be easy to drop the flaps down, in order to get in closer for adjusting/manipulation. Just a thought, if you could keep it portable. Contact me via PM if I can answer any questions on that.

Got any pre-convention specs on dimensions, working weight capacity and drop tests, specific applications in different types of bodywork, etc?

Currently the table is 27" wide. Can hold 485lbs on the main frame. Once we get the final product we will test the wings. At the moment the wings hold 270lbs, but they should be folded down to get your client on and off. ROM-T Enterprises will offer a table at 30-33", we will also have an electric table. The face cradle will lock in at a 45 degree angle left and right. The wings allow for sub level rotatiton and allows the therapist to get in to the table. We will work on reducing the weight to 35-40lbs.

I am not sure how viable this is for practice. Putting the wings up and down seems to be not only distracting, but frustrating. I would have to drop the wings before the client got on the table and then crawl around under the table to pop them back up underneath my client. Now, having to ask the client to accomodate me?

I would rather use a table like this, with the wings up, and only drop them if needed.

Maybe you'd care to explain the concept? I don't think I am understanding how this is going to help me.

Instead of making your client move to the edge of the table like traditional tables, this allows you to move the table away from your client and that will be more accomodating. The latches on the wings will be easy and no need to go under the table. From the standing position place your hand under the wing, use two fingers push the latch in and done, It's a matter of seconds. The purpose of the wings is to allow 360 degree range of motion and when they fold down it allows the therapist to get over their client in a more ergonomically correct position. The middle of the table is cut at an angle to accomodate the Scapula.

We are considering making a instructional dvd, nothing in the works yet. We got a few good references for teaches at the AMTA.

I met Chris and his partner at the AMTA National Convention. They had a prototype set up, and we spent some time discussing the design characteristics. The prototype wasn't market-ready, but it gave me a good feel for the table design and proposed functionality. I think this one has some good potential and look forward to seeing the next edition.

The designer is a massage therapist himself, and we talked about different types of applications. As if they needed my input, I suggested some features that I would personally like to see included, though those features would probably make the table unrealistically complex and/or expensive. :grin:

Anyway, very nice guys with a comfortable, innovative table design.

Oh you're welcome Pueppi,

I feel it's necessary to keep up with questions and get as much information out to the industry as a start up company. We have a lot to prove as a new company and a completely new design.

The sheets are whatever twin size sheet you use, when the wings fold down the sheet will move with them. When the corner wing is folded down the sheet follows the wing but it may catch in the crease in the locked position. Later down the road we will offer a form fitting sheet per each piece of the table.

The lowest position this table can go is 24 inches.

Today we had 610 total pounds on the table and it didn't bend or bow. It is a very stable table, I do not foresee any problems with any of the chiropractic maneuvers. as far as you and your client on the table, go for it. I will be sure to get final weight capacity figures before the final product is unveiled
