[Joe racing]

I was in Safari back in Feb this year and couple of times i visited late in the night, it was frequented by cops and closed down around 3 :30 AM. Also, the crowd was not as heavy as earlier with 40-50 folks at most. I remember sometime last year when that place used to be packed and rocking until 6 AM - lot of gals from both patong and Kata/karon which it made it look very colorful. I really missed this place since it was good to go there after all the patong disco's closed and chill out until early morning. Any updates if it is coming back to life?

Sorry John I havn't been for ages, stopped going when because of the police closing it some nights early etc, the people stopped going, makes sense cos when I think about it, I stopped going for the same reason, grab a tuk tuk 200 baht ride, get there its shut again, stand around for half hour then have to pay 300 baht to get back to Patong.

Anyway do my late night drinking sessions elsewhere now, always other places!! must admit though havn't seen the sunrise coming up on the way home for awhile now, feck must be getting old or settled ???

safari is for the desperate IMHO ,been there a couple of times and didn't like it.
maybe i am too old for clubs at 3-00am but am usually tucked up in bedebies by then:arf:

It used to be the place back when town got closed early.. Had more great nights there than dull ones..

But like Dodge.. More likely to be up at that time of day than going home these days.

i actually found it to be for a lot of the better quality bg's that didnt need to work in a bar for drinks and would just pop out for the late night scene

safari in my experience full of fights and ladyboys and mozzies. Seemed like it attracted a lot of 'dodgy' people so not surprised it has finally closed.

hasn't been staying open until daylight for some time...if open at all

I used to see loadsof folks outside at about 6-7am on my way out to Cahlong pier...but its as dead as a door nail these days

Went up there this weekend and it deffo stayed open til after 7 AM. Not packed like in the old days, but still pretty decent IMO. They are definitely hurting as Hollywood is allowed to stay open very late these days.

(Oh nos, now I'm starting to talk about the good "old" days... Thought I never would turn out to be one of "those".)

We left Safari at Sun-up a month ago but there were only a bunch of people left in the room at the back by then. Picked up a pick-up truck for 400thb to get back to Surin as strangely enough I'm not too keen on our TukTuk "service providers"....

We left Hollywood around 5am (I'm informed) last Saturday, but remember not liking the security there just standing in a line on the edge of the rear dancefloor staring into the crowd trying to look hard...
