Safety of your possessions

I've noticed in some reviews that some MPs don't have showers in the actual room. Well, do you guys undress in your room and walk down to shower leaving all your stuff in the room?

How safe is it? I can't imagine leaving my wallet unattended in such a place.

As a golden rule for myself, I always carry my wallet, cell phone, watch, etc in a little fanny pack, and that goes with me.

You never know who may venture into your room while you are away. (It could just be another customer, who knows)

Showers in the room are an important feature to me when choosing an MP. When venturing to new territory, it is something I ask about, usually by phoning ahead of time. In the past, when starting this hobby, the few minutes of being in a shower and forgetting my stuff, or just trusting that it was safe back in the room buuged me. But, with experience, we learn to reduce the risk, and take all the precautions.

The other thing about seperate showers that bugs me, is that it's one more opportunity to leave the privacy of the room, and be seen by other patrons in the store. It makes it just a little less discreet.

I personally leave my wallet, cell, etc. in the glove box. I just bring the cash that I need.

I agree with Quirt and La Venganza. I leave credit cards, bank cards and the like at the hotel room. The most I'll have is my license and maybe $50 more than what I'll need to pay for the room and extras. Cell stays in the car.

The thing is, I've only gone to MP's with showers in the rooms. So even though my stuff is always there with me, why take the chance?

Whenever possible, as suggested, leave valuables safely locked in the car. I always keep my wallet with me if I have to use a 'common shower.'
An MPA I used to see at one parlour made that point to me and quickly noted that the girls working there were trust worthy but said they can't always keep an eye on every customer on his way out; may not notice one quickly ducking into a room and walking off with your wallet (plus if a guy was really bold, how would they stop him?)

I often leave behind my wallet or autographed picture of Mike Toth that I have hanging off of my necklace, when I go to IT. By doing so, I give myself the luxury of returning to IT the very next day.

bring only what you can afford to lose....better to be safe than sorry. Personally I've never had a problem but I try not to leave myself open

There is no need to take any chances. I never bring anything in with me. I never had a problem myself either but there is always a first time. Why put yourself into a spot that you don' t want to be in. I have never heard of anyone having problems but then I don't recall this ever being brought up before. Good point!!!

If the shower is in another room why not just take off your shoes/socks and head over to the shower room with your clothes on with towel in hand. Strip down and take your shower with the luxury being able to keep an eye on your stuff. When done, wrap the towel around yourself and carry your clothes with you. Overall the most you could lose are your socks and shoes ........ I have never been to a place with a shower in another room but I would do something like that.

Its better not to trust anyone in a MP because the whole atmosphere is money oriented.

I never, ever take anything other than cash into a MP - even those with in room showers like HFH, SRM etc.

Yeah - you don't get ripped off in the room - they do that to you at the door and ATM.
