Sansabai changes...

I dont use Sansabai much anymore as my driver pick me up from beach side of Bangla.

But I saw today many of the new bars was gone, those opposite Bangkok Residence hotel and noticed a new small bar complex called Lion Bars.

So look like lot of changes in that area lately.

Those bars are all going and the car park is being built on - another apartment block!!:tussor:

From the looks of it, lots of new construction in the area. New boxing stadium, new bars, new condos.

I wonder if they'll ever install some sort of traffic lights on the road going behind Jungceylon Center? The other night, after a few beers, I was crossing the street and I almost got clobbered by a motorbike. I thought I looked both ways carefully, but some motorbike came out of nowhere and almost hit me. I guess I'm lucky to still be here.

I can`t see it being too much of a problem in rainy season..

Oh well. If people haven't already been killed trying to cross that road, it's just a matter of time. Way too much traffic with no traffic control.

Well,it`s a real picture,maybe not from LOS.....but you get my drift.

Some poor town planning going on down that way.
The whole of that road to Jungceylon is a flood plain in the rainy season.

What we hear now is the new owners of the pool are waiting for the end of construction so they can refurbish the pool, then open it again. I HOPE that is true, but who ever knows for sure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

As we know just a little splash of rain these days and the top of Sansabai alongside Bangkok Residence and Chang Club gets flooded. Don't think I would like to park my car if I had one in the new underground carpark behind BR in the monsoon season!

Also notice the huge crack now about 3 inches wide has opened up in the road again so something has moved several inches one way! The front of the Chang Club subsided within a few months of completion and had to be rebuilt. Interesting rainy season ahead me thinks.

I was staying at the SBH a couple of weaks ago, sitting at the bar midday. It started to rain...I made the observation "hey, it's raining" (brilliant)

No one even looked up....

Then....the rain god's said "feck it", and then a thunder clap, and then.....WHOOOO...holy shite.

I have only seen rain like that for maybe two minutes in my life (cloud burst we call it).
This went on for about 5 minutes when Bill looked up from his newspaper and said "hmmm..NOW it's raining" then went back to his paper. Comic timing!5555

After about ten minutes of CRAZY rain, I was filming, awe-struck.
Then the staff of SBH and others, without command, went to work.
Sweeping out drainage pipes, clearing debree, and closing sunblinds ect...

So skuzy....thats how they handled it! (and with a smile)5555555

Yep, a big crack running up and down Sansabai.

So the whole area is a flood plain? I wonder if the people selling condos in the area publicize that fact? 3.45 million baht, and up!

Talk about flooding...I'm curious to see how all those new shop stalls that are being built opposite Carrefour will hold up during the rainy season...Remember that is all swamp land underneath the concrete foundation...you think any planning went into that?

Not sure of anything at the moment. They SAID it would be reopend. But I know that won't happen at least until they stop pounding in the the pylons.
