I miss Tex, I bet she could find what I'm looking for, the search queen...
New client, 52, very skinny female had back surgery 10 years ago to have rods screwed into her spine to correct her scoliosis, also they installed a strap across the sacrum. She has constant pain still, of course.
She is fairly active, swimming for exercise.
Palpation was interesting...could not really feel the spine, but could feel lots of lumps and bumps and the like. She is so skinny, I could feel all sorts of muscles that otherwise are hidden, follow bones too. I think she is still crooked, but when the spinus processes don't stick up like they ought, how can you tell? I spent 30 minutes on her back, she said it felt good, but I wonder what else could be done? Primarily I used swedish/esalen, some TrP techniques, experimented with some MFR, but was wondering about some of the cross hand releases...all that hardware is to keep things from moving, how effective will this be? At the last MFR class I attended some folks were talking about people unwinding and bending those rods. That would be different.
Appreciate any and all responses. thanks..mick
