I agree with that 100%. I haven't been giving a lot more, just $10 or $20 depending on the session but for the most part I've been following those guidelines.

The other downside is setting up expectations for future sessions because once you over-tip that one time, they'll always expect that and it's hard to go back. Better to start off with a fair amount and let the extras get better on their own over time. Then it's up to you if you want to give a bit more to match the extras you're getting.
