serious help needed about chat room incident?

Hi im 14 and today at school we got told about internet saftey and how to avoid pedophiles online so a little while ago I went into a chat room so see just how many pedophiles would talk to me if I put my profile as a 13 year old girl,about 20 people talked to me (Mostly pedo's) then I got a notification saying I was banned and my ip was logged and depending on the severity of my actions it could be taken to the police,I hardly spoke to the people,just hi and stuff can I really be arrested to trying to see how many pedo's talked to me?

secondly, the internet [which means chat rooms] isn't necessarily filled with paedophiles.

it's a scare story to give you some common sense in life should you need it, it doesn't mean you need to fear the fact that you annoyed a load of people and got banned.
