Last time over there I stopped in at Bali Hai (the one next to Kepsup on Rat-U-Thit) to get a nice manicure, pedicure & foot massage. The lady who I initially talked to wasn't quite my type where extras would have been concerned, but I figured it didn't matter since I was only going for an hour or so of being tended to. She had another, younger, lady join her to help with the manicure/pedicure bit.

After that was over, and I had tipped the two of them, the first lady (not the second, darnit) pressed hard to get me upstairs for an oil massage. I finally gave in and enjoyed a nice massage for 35 or 40 min. Then came the questions about why no extras. She eventually got the drift that I preferred younger ladies and finally let it go. I still tipped her another couple hundred baht, but it seemed her pride had been wounded.

Lesson learned.
