ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Police in Asheville say a sex offender who failed to report his address is facing an additional charge of practicing massage therapy without a license.
Warrants show that in October, 50-year-old Michael Stanley Cole advertised himself as a massage therapist and did not have license to do so, according to reports. Police records also show Cole listed an address where he didn't live, and failed to give the Buncombe County Sex Offender Registry his correct address, which is a felony.
State records show that Cole was convicted as a sex offender in 2005 for an offense that took place in the state of New York in 2004.
Cole is jailed on a $10,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
