A 40-year-old man faces a sexual assault charge after woman reported that she had been touched inappropriately during a massage therapy session.

On May 16, a female in her fifties attended the Thermea Spa in the 700 block of Crescent Drive, where she received a massage from a licenced massage therapist. During the massage session, her body was allegedly touched in an unwanted and sexual manner. She was not physically injured during this incident.

Three days later, she contacted the Winnipeg Police’s Sex Crimes Unit which began an investigation.
On Thursday, a 40-year-old male was arrested and is facing a sexual assault charge. He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
He is no longer an employee of the business, police said.
