Thanks to everyone who helped me through my case studies panic and my exam panic and now i'm onto my first official client panic.
Leafleted a few local roads yesterday for a mobile ihm visit but wasn't actually expecting anyone to book and now i'm very very nervous. It's not till next Tues so I can practice a bit more but any tips would be very welcome,
I have my mobile chair, hand gel,towel ,ipod & speakers, consultation form - anything else? I can feel myself blanking already
Am addicted to checking the forums each day - fantastic site!

Hiya mcmantra!

Firstly, well done on getting your first booking! Just a few other things you might want to take: oils/massage cream; small cushion (for when you're doing the facial massage) candles (and lighter!); aftercare advice leaflet - also, I always take a small fold up table with me so that I can be sure that I'll have everything I need close at hand - you don't necessarily know 'til you get there where you'll be setting up and if there'll be anywhere to put all your bits and pieces!

May be stating the obvious, but don't forget a pen and a watch/clock!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine and will feel much more confident once you've visited your first 'real' client- let us know how you get on!

Thanks - i shall look for a fold up table this weekend - great idea and i have a client file with consult sheet , pen, paper and aftercare, I'm just used to friend scoming to mine and it being quite relaxed, when someones paying i'm not sure i'll appear too professional. Im sure i'll look quite red with lugging the equipment in and when i get too nervous my face gets so bright red i can light up the entire street!

I just use a fold up 'T.V. Table' : They're sold by Argos in pairs (pg. 659) - I bought a single one for around £6 from Dunelm Mill (who also have an online store) and I've also seen them on sale at The Range. I don't know if you have any of these stores near to where you are, but I'm sure there'll be something similar.

Hi macmantra,

The client won't know anything about your forms, routines or anything else that you've learnt - just relax, enjoy your self and this will be projected to your client.

I now how you feel though - last year i did the ITEC Aromatherapy exams and I was nervous as hell as there were just so, so many things to remember and my colleagues seemed to know so much more! This was after 20 years working as aromatherapist - I just wanted to get the Diploma.
