What has happened to Sharkeys? where have all the bar girls gone?

I have been in Patong for 3 nights now and havent been here for a year but on my previous trips Sharkeys was heaving with customers and lots of pretty bar girls. The last few days it has been as good as empty, so few customers and only a couple of bar girls. Seems like a waste of a prime location to me now

Why don't you ask the girls that are there? Been like that for a year or so now except for real peak season.

A big let down for me too as i've had a few good times there..couldn't believe what it was like this year.

I had to go back and check that it was still there during the day, as I had no memory of even walking past it for the first week I was there it was so awful. That little hut bar in front wouldn't of helped things I would guess!

was only ever interested (for a giggle) when passing if the old gold laden woman got wasted and tried to relive her youth dancing on the bar

Have spoken to 2 ex-Sharkeys girls......neither of whom liked the business practices there.

I thought in one of the clean up, shut the bar early sessions, Sharkey's were told the gilrs could still dance on the bar but had to correctly dressed, ie not so much skin showing. About this time the little shed bar opened in front of them and they rightly complained. Seems to have gone completely downhill since this time, no girls dancing on the bar, a lot less visibility from the road and probably a lack of interest.

Yet, the 'Love Shack' is doing a roaring trade the last time I saw it!

Would love to have been a fly on the wall when they came along and dumped that hut in front of Sharkeys!

Sharkeys is still promoted heavily on the 'Phuket Channel' on the telly but the advert is a bit old and jaded now.

Just remembered one of my drunken rambles to the girl in the "loveshack". Her names Sophia (loveshack), and she on Facebook! She asked me where I lived and when I told her, she said what did I do as she apparently lived before in Sheffield. As I was in a creative mood, I said a Farmer of course. So now she then she kept asking me questions about it. It amazing what you can pick up over the years from listening to the Archers!

So if anyone talks to me on facebook. Ask me how the farm going....... lets see how long I can keep this up for!!! :boulay:
