She asked me to give her a back massage, WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE?

Ok, this question is probably gonna sound kinda strange, but anyway...our school is pretty small and I'm usually an outgoing a guy, just a shy...you know what I mean! I don't really belong in the popular groups but its not like they exclude me, I'm just not close with any popular people, we just talk. Well today in assembly I got up and did a speech that had everyone rolling in tears, and people kept coming up and quoting me afterward. I sat behind one of the really popular girls in our year and she said that she thought I was really funny. I didn't think too much of it as everyone else had been saying the same thing, though I did feel pretty happy that she'd say something like that to me. But halfway through the class, as I was stretching, she leaned back in her chair and said 'hey, you can give me a back massage'. I was kinda suprised and didn't say anything, and I froze 'cuase I didn't know what to do...I;ve never given massages before? I dropped my pen at the same time and turned around to get kit, and when I turned back she was still leaning back, so then I didn;t know what to do and preteneded that I didn't hear her and after awhile everything went back to normal.
But I'm reeeeeally confused, what do you think she meant or what could I have done? Am I overreacting? What does it mean for a girl to ask you to massage her?

And if you didn't know how, then just start doing it and tell her that you don't really know what you're doing. Then she'll either laugh and find it cute, or guide your hands where they belong
... or laugh at you.
