Shooting at 2525 Arbutus

Hello All;

I am a long time lurker and have benefited from all the reviews and discussions on this board for many years, but it is time for me to contribute back to this forum.

Just a quick note about the shooting a couple of nights ago at 2525 Arbutus. I was driving home at about midnight when I came to the intersection at Arbutus and Broadway. Cops everywhere. I spoke with someone who said that shots had been fired. Last night on the news it was confirmed that the massage studio had nine shots fired into the front enterance. Fortunately no one was hurt, but you may want to be careful if you are visiting this place or other MPs in the area.

I will be providing reviews on an ongoing basis, provided I don't get slammed too badly for my opinions.

Ever since they relocated from Richmond, it's been weird there. They have a young pretty girl up front on the desk, but then there will be a couple of guys with her every now and then. Parking is a hassle there during the day time and it just seems the place is being run less professional than it use to.

I have not gone back since last time when I was overcharged and the front desk girl tried to rip me off.

Well if there is a shooting going on, that's going to deter me even more. I don't need the cops on my ass in the middle of a HJ. There are much more discrete places.

I went in there one day a few months ago after a run of posts about the place. Asked for the cutie that everyone was saying did nice massage and hj.
Real young cute one at the front sitting with a young guy.She said this girl was not working today.But she would take my number and call me when this
girl was working again.Never heard from her again.Oh well.
Seems the place is different than when was in Richmond.Perhaps with the gunshots we should steer clear for awile.

When I went there last, saw some younger guys hanging out by the desk.

At first I thought, gangs..but then thought nothing more of it

I don't think the younger guys were gang members either, but still having some young guys hanging around in the front desk of this spa kinda makes it uncomfortable for me. What are they there for anyways?

Anyways, thanks to fellow pooners, I don't need to go back to this spa again. With indy's like Nelly, Melody, Sally, Lina, and others that have been reviewed I get just as great a massage service and extra's for way less and do not have to worry about some shooting that could happen.

Basically this is what happened.

I had a package and went in for a 2 session massage. After the session, I go get dressed, head out to the reception area and am ready to pay the receptionist the tip for the masseuse.

The receptionist hands me my sheet for which I have to sign to acknowledge the sessions I have used up. I got a special deal of 12 sessions for $400 (normally it's only 10 sessions for $400) back when I signed up for it in Richmond. I had 3 sessions remaining, but when I looked down at the sheet I noticed there was only 1 session left.

I told the receptionist that I was given a special deal of 12, but she pretended she couldn't speak english and said "no, no, only 10."

The boss wasn't around at the time, so there was nothing I could do nor anyone else I could talk to.

So I paid for the extra session out of my own pocket - another $60 and now the receptionist ask me for another $100 for tipping the masseuse.

I told her that a 2 session tip was only $40-$80. She then apologizes to me and says "oh yes." I give $40 to her and leave, making a note not to come back for treating me like some stupid tourist.

Yeah, I've noticed they got a lot of gang type guys who go in, but I don't care. I liked their SP cuz they know what they are doing and the place use to be run well with people who actually communicated honestly and not try to rip me off.
