Should I fake facebook-chat this guy?

Sooo... I've never really talked to this guy before but he's my facebook friend and he's really cute
I want to talk to him, but I don't know how to start the conversation and I don't want to just say "hey, what's up?"

Is this a good idea:
Pretend I'm a friend on my account and say "Heyy i miss you. we should hang out sometime <3" or something like that??
And then I'll get on and be like "AHHH SORRY! That was my friend on my account!" and then start the conversation from there?

Will he know that I'm faking or will he think it's funny?
And yes, I know this is childish but I want to try it out and see if it works
