sigmoid diverticular diease

hi all

i was wondering if anyone could help me, i have a new client who has sigmoid diverticular disease and a light heart murmer, he has told me that these require no treatment other than a good diet and exercise. i have not come across either of these in a client before and would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone could give

Cannot really help but I did look up "diverticular disease" and found this:-

What are diverticula?

A diverticulum (if there are more than one they are known as "diverticula") is a protrusion of the inner lining of the intestine through the outer muscular coat to form a small pouch with a narrow neck. The commonest site for diverticula to develop is the lower left part of the colon. The presence of diverticula is often referred to as diverticulosis.

Has for "a Light Heart Murmur" I am not sure was told I had an "Innocence Heart Murmur", which I have or was told I had and might have had from childhood, are they one of the same thing. I took "Innocence Heart Murmur" to mean that it was not serious and have not worried about since I was told about it. I do mention it if asked about any illness or conditions just in case.

Try this website. Its for a diet specifically for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, but is has also been found to have a profound effect on autism, and there is some anecdotal evidence that it might also help with other intestinal disorders such as diverticulitis. Part of the idea behind it is that it is a very low fibre diet, which slows digestive transit, giving the bowel time to heal - which nevertheless takes a good while.

Its pretty challenging getting started (there's no cheating!), but I've been on it for one and a half years now, and have never been in better health. The idea is to stay on it for a minimum of 2 years, then slowly reintroduce foods, 1 ingredient at a time, back into your diet.

Its not nearly as restrictive as it sounds at first - you can go to most restaurants, and even travelling abroad is possible without much difficulty. And you get very creative with the foods you can eat. I've given dinner parties to friends serving only my permitted foods, and they've never known the difference.
