Hey all,
I am working on getting a sign for my new place. There are many options available, some which will work for me, and some which wont.
My office is in an historic district, so the city has a say as to what I can put up and where. This is limited to a sign on the OUTSIDE of my building. I had a sign guy over today. He recommended a sign hanging from the inside of my window. It would be made of some type of light weight composite which would end up looking like carved wood. It would have my logo and business name on it. The logo and lettering would be raised above (carved look) and painted in the colors of my logo. It would be a sign that would be readily seen by walkers, but not as easily seen by cars driving by. Going this route eliminates the city's approval as well as their $25 per year tax on my sign (because it is indoors.)
If I go with a sign attatched to the outside of my building it would be larger and more expencive (but not that much more than the carved composite smaller sign), I would have to pay for them to install the sign, I would have to pay $25 a year city tax for the privilage of having the sign up, and it would be more visible for motorists (but less visible to walkers because it is up so high.)
Another option is to have my logo made in vinyl and have the sign guy put it in my window. This may be the least expencive route.
For those with a store front, what do you have for signage? Any tips?
TIA
