small portable stereo

I bought a new massge chair for my on-site jobs and the new chair is quite a bit larger than my old chair. So, now I am looking for ways to downsize my load and the CD player seemed like the best place to start. I'd like to hear what other people are using for small, quality music systems for on-site. I do have electricity where I do these gigs and I'd rather not do the battery thing. Thanks.

Creative Zen Micro (sub $200 for the 8gig full-color model,) and the Altec-Lansing IM4 portable folding speakers ($80.) I usually plug the speakers in, but it has a battery option if needed, and I get about 15-20 hours play time on a set of 4-AA batteries. Rechargeables get less time, but still pretty good.

This setup packs small enough to carry in my medium size purse, and delivers surprisingly good sound for small spaces. It will not compete with a boom-box, but is much more portable and versatile, since I don't have to also pack CDs.

I know there are plenty of Ipod solutions out there too, that would work just as well.

I use an iPod nano, although a Shuffle would be even smaller if you didn't mind it.

My partner just bought a new portable speaker system, the Logitech MM50, that I've been using for chair gigs. It can plug in, but has an internal rechargeable battery, 10 hours supposedly It has great sound quality and I'm finding it to be very portable.

I have speakers to my sony ericsson cellphone with mp3 player. Very small, you can put them in your pocket and the sound is really good! Check it out here:

I am still back in the dark ages - use CD's and a boombox. If I get and ipod can I download my CD's to it? Sorry for the basic question - but I have never been anywhere near the cutting edge of technology.

I use an iPod nano (8GB) which gives way more play time than I have endurance. Right now it's about 1/2 full, and it shows 43hrs play time.
Mind you it's not all massage music
I've created a couple of play lists for different session lengths, and styles. Also created a couple of lists for regular lients that prefer jazz etc.
Any decent player can do this, and the iPod has good battery life at about two work days before recharge. I usually put it on charge the night before a big day just in case.
I have a "gym" bag with mesh pockets at both ends for the Creative Labs T20 speakers. These sound awsome, and are not too heavy. If you are away from power, I 'm sure there is some battery power inverter available. The bag part holds everything else I need for a chair, or table session. The side pocket on my table case holds linnens for that session, and I usually have a duffel with extras for the next session in the car.
A friend has a remote for her nano, which I might have to look into.
