So-so Silk Road....A Review

I paid for a three hour session (actual elapsed time was two and one-half hours) at Silk Road. With the 10% Heaven & Earth discount and $10.08 tax, the final price was $154.08. Services consisted of "full body" (no unit or buttocks) massage, back scrub, and men's dragon facial, and were administered by an attractive, fully clothed brunette practitioner in her twenties by the name of Jacquie Lynn. She was all business albeit a nice person. At the outset she made it clear that the underwear was to stay on.....NOT a good sign of things to come. This was one of the few massage sessions I have ever experienced where no wood was sported...well, almost no wood. A vigorous arm massage during the final fifteen minutes resulted in a huge rise in the silk boxers.

Looks---8.0 with her clothes on.....with them off, I'll never know.
Attitude-7.5.....friendly, but asexual.
Service--6.0 combined and for each of the three parts......The session was OK, but nothing special...I have had many far better nonsexual massages with and without the underwear removed.
Best Line---"Take off your clothes, except for your underwear."
Would I repeat? Possibly, but not with Jacquie Lynn.

BTW what is a heaven and earth discount? Did't see on their site, or is that a local magazine....

I assume they are actually at 1624 Government Street? They give as a mailing address but not sure its the spa.. don't know if this is Chinatown area or not.

I plan on going there also. I enjoy totally nonsexual but good massage, especially deep muscle work on neck, shoulders, back. I will try and call and get a recoomendations for a good deep muscle gal if they have any. In my experience (in U.S) its unusual to keep shorts on - your just covered. In some cases so much covering is hard to find the body under it all!

Dave, by purchasing three "one hour" services, the customer receives a 10% discount. The three I picked (and other combinations, too) are called the "Heaven & Earth" package, thus my discount was the "Heaven & Earth" discount. You do have the correct address, Dave. I requested "deep" from their three choices of light, medium, and deep. Jacquie Lynn's deep was not deep enough for me. She is a sweet girl; I'd love to see her naked for a mutual massage.

Yes I often find "deep" isn't realy what I consider deep when therapists think they do deep. Some of the body rub gals in Ontario I was surprised actually did my kind of good deep... but too briefly since of course also did the sensual pleasure routine which I also enjoy.

I also seek great massage and had these legit sessions:

Angel Spa, body scrub and massage - good but not superlative
Ayurvedic, same - very oily massage with a sleep-inducing forehead drip for 20 min
Spa at the Grand, Grand Pacific Hotel, OK, but serious short-timing here. I don't mind 5 or 10 minutes (which happened twice there) but once they shorted me 15 minutes on a 55 minute massage and insisted on charging the 55 minute price. Lesson: take it up with the masseuse and not the receptionist. In my experience, the Bubble Tea provides the best legit massage in Victoria. This is slanted, of course, by my preference for hard, deep tissue massages. BTW, I got naked for all of my Victoria massges but they do a "wrap" thing with a big sheet and stay far away for any private parts or funny business.

Thank you, Oceanic, for all of your great massage information and for (along with V_V) helping to line me up with Dana. I love Victoria so much that I have already made my spring break reservations. By the way, Dave, Lucy can do a deep that is really DEEP. While it is not as therapeutic as is Coco's in Toronto, Lucy is the only person ever to make me feel true pain during a session. Lucy is into "getting out the knots".

I'm confused about Oceanic about Bubble Tea - you seem to like hard deep, but I thought Bubble Tea was more the.. I forget name of Thai massage which is sort of like the pretzel twisting, more stretching (painful) and just accupressure vs a more kneading Swedish stype deep muscle. Actually I only need deep on my neck and shoulders (holding the world on my shoulders is stressful) and back. Don't like deep on legs .. but butt is nice

Actually I had "Thai" massage in... Thailand. But was too painful in the wrong way via strecthing and twisting. I know I need it but I'm not very stretchable.

It's all that you report PLUS kneading. Kneading with hands, with elbows, with knees. Some practioners do lots of kneading, some do more stretching and twisting. My experiences at Bubble Tea are a good mix of both stretching and kneading. I've also had the painful experiences. Now I speak up so that the practioner can hit the pressure that is right for me.

I had a very good “full body” massage session last week at Pin’s in Nanaimo. She offers Thai massage at a very reasonable rate, $45.00 for an hour. Other “services” were also available, and negotiable, but FS was only offered to repeat customers. I opted for a “complete” for an additional $20.00, which included some nice BLS, and finished off with a very skillful HJ. Overall it was a very satisfying, relaxing, non-rushed session that is definitely worth repeating!
