Soliciting ideas for a new type of venue/experience...

As things stand right now in CR, the available venues break down into one of three basic categories:

1. Daytime massage parlors
2. Nighttime strip clubs
3. Hooker bars (either associated with hotels, like the Blue Marlin and Sportsmen's, or with on-site rooms like Idem)

There's really not a whole lot of variation in each category in terms of how they conduct business. And at least for me, things have now grown a bit stale.

To that effect, I'd like to solicit the board's input on the possibilities for a new type of venue/experience. Here's some questions:

1. Do the current venues provide an adequate and satisfying experience as is, or is something new and different really needed?

2. Would you be willing to pay more for a more luxurious room, say with a jacuzzi and cool decor?

3. What would be the ideal way to hook up with the girls? Would you prefer if the girls were more aggressive and made the first approach?

4. How about a "terma" type approach, where one entry fee allows you to lounge around and drink with the girls, with an extra fee charged for any private services? Any chance of this working in Costa Rica?

5. Would it be important to locate the facility as centrally as possible in the gulch, or is Jaco or somewhere else in the Central Valley workable?

2) Yes…you know what a decent room in Hawaii, Cancun, Vegas or any other tourist venue costs…
3) No…the hunt is part of the fun!
4) Hmm…Interesting thought, but the option to move around is always a draw, but then again the “one stop shopping “or “spa day” idea would be a good alternative.
5) We need a SL type of operation (w/ chicas) at a beach location! A couple of days in the city with a couple of days at the beach…Bill are you listening?

I still think that the Amon could be a good option for the “single male traveler” if the right ownership and management could be arranged and the facilities upgraded and properly marketed…The monger market is growing fast, just look at the increase of members here and the increase in numbers on flights into SJO…Vegas has done a great job of reinventing itself as an adult play ground, put prices have gone thru the roof …time to find a new playground for many of the adventure seeking tourists…

I like the idea of sorting out the crowd. IMHO the BM attracts to many people who arent even in the mood for some action.

You get the guys ( me included ) who head over to have a drink and watch the eye candy.

On the other hand I like the FKK club type or the terma approach. Pay a fee, and you get the enjoyment of watching the girls.

IMHO the terma setup is the best of both worlds. You get the nudity or eye candy of a strip club, plus the possibilities of a massage parlor. And with the entrance fee, you dont get the cheap charlies just sitting around saying how they hate life.

Sorts things out a bit.

I'd be willing to pay a bit more, as long as it doesnt turn into a 100$ massage parlor.

I also prefer the girls to be aggressive. If their not aggressive ( Kamur ) then their sitting around talking and no one can get them over. Thats stupid, whats the point of having girls if they arent interacting.

If I have to go looking around the club for girls, then I may as well be back home.

I would add a couple of variations to what's available. There are daytime and nightime bars where the girls inside are available on site for company. The Molino Rojo is not really a strip club, since there's not even one dancer during an average week. And there's Bar Camelot, a daytime place that's a bar. Idem is also not a strip club or massage parlour or freelance joint.

I have heard a lot of mongers bemoan the lack of daytime 'action' in Jaco. I hate the climate there but somebody who enjoys sweatting might be able to make a good living running a daytime place there. It's been mentioned before.

1) You have to consider who you're asking this question to. Most guys on this board, at least the ones who are most likely to post their answer to your question, are also vets. I think most vets would appreciate greater variety. The much more vast and unwashed newbie audience are probably already overwhelmed with the choices presented by what you consider to be a limited variety of venues. That said I'm sure they'd also take advantage of new forms of entertainment if it were available.

2) Again this will really vary between individuals. Personally, the idea of getting into a jacuzzi at a mongering establishment doesn't appeal to me at all from a health and safety viewpoint. Some guys like the lap of luxury and don't mind paying a lot extra for it. I come down to CR largely to take advantage of cheap prices, so there's only so high I'd be willing to go. You can go upmarket all you want but you have to be careful. Eventually, you'll reach a point where not enough people will bite. How many guys are willing to pay extra for places like Hooter's, Elite or Atlantis?

3) Again all guys are different and one size won't fit all. My own view is that at the BM and certainly most higher-end strip clubs the girls are too aggressive. In the case of the latter it is because they have to work so much harder to overcome the resistance to the ridiculously high prices. Come to think of it that might be part of it at the BM too. That aspect ties into what I said in #2. OTOH, I feel that places like IDEM the girls are not aggressive enough. There they sit passively against the wall and you have to draw them out. I prefer a more neutral environment. I guess someplace like the KL would be the closest to it. There the girls joke around more and will dance and drink with you more readily in a friendly manner. The monger can then more easily work in his charm and slip in those all-important interview questions in a friendly and natural way. This is why the Terma's have it over most regular MP's because they provide an environment where garotas and gringos can interact before deciding to go to a back room.

4) Obviously from everything I've just said you can see I think a Terma would work great in CR. The only way I think you could improve on a Terma is to mix in the best aspects of other MP's from other parts of the world. More specifically I'm thinking of the soapies of BKK, where you go into a tub or even just an air-mattress on a floor with a drain and a sprinkler hose. Then the girl suds-up both you and herself and slides her naked slippery body up and down your back. I get an erection just remembering it. Personally, I'd much prefer that to a jacuzzi and it would also be much cheaper and easier to provide.

5) Location? Anywhere you have a high concentration of mongers to make it work. Jaco would work but I think SJ would be better. It doesn't have to be in the heart of the Gulch, but it should be an easy cab or bus ride from there. Having to travel elsewhere in the central valley like Alajuela or Heredia or even Escazu probably wouldn't work. You've got relatively wealthy ex-pats who live in Escazu that might visit a higher end club from time to time, but the real money is going to come from visitors who come down here with money to spend and they don't stay in Escazu.

Keep in mind that the Del Rey operates because the girls can set their own prices and as we know these are often way over market value. They can come and go as they please so there is almost always someone to select from. It would be hard to compete with that setup for the best looking girls (ie. Colombianas).

A terma and/or soapie would have to make their prices high enough to pay for the facilities AND provide the girls a worthwhile income to keep them there.

Termas work in Rio because of a combination of tourists and the local businessmen who frequent them. I don't have the figures but I would guess there are more well-paid locals in Rio than in San Jose. I also think termas work because so many of the girls are just drop-dead beautiful. There seems to be a lot less girls with Babi*s in Rio than in San Jose.
Rio girls seem to be on the programa by choice. In San Jose so many are there from necessity, at least as they see it.

The soapies are great because of the "custom" and the petite girls that provide the services. Could one be profitable in San Jose? Could we find enough girls under 135 lbs. to provide this service? It's a "slippery" question (pun intended) but certainly one that should be looked into.

The best overall place might be shooting a little too high but could you just imagine a place with a combination Zona Blue/IDEM/Terma/Soapie format? Different services for different guys and different girls for different services!

Now THAT would truly be something for everyone!

1) Yes and No IMO. After going to Costa Rica, I know what to expect now. I do like the variety San Jose offers. Going to say a place like New Fantasy, where they have nice facilities with a great steam room and sauna is nice. If you are feeling cheap you can go to Oasis, Muses, the Dungeon, etc. Sometimes I like phucking in a dodgy room. ZB is great, because you can have a drink and there is no pressure to take a girl to a room if you aren't feeling the vibe. The BM offers a whole different scene, where you more choices and a large area to explore. Its a good "party" type atmosphere.

2) Yes, I have thought about going to the Garden of Eden just for that reason. From what I have heard, the $25 is a pretty good value for the quality of rooms and the atmosphere there. What you are talking about is a step above that and I would being willing to "splurge" a couple times a trip just to have that type of experience.

3) I like it when I am the one making the move. The majority of the time when the woman makes the move, it is a woman I am not really attracted to. I am fairly picky, but when you are the one paying for the experience- it needs to be just what you are looking for at the time. If a girl approached me in a normal situation, my standards would not be as high as I am not paying for the sexo in that situation.

4) To me this is my favorite situation. I liken it to Planet Happy Garden, which is an FKK club located near the German/Dutch border. You pay an entrance fee and there are several different places to lounge and drink.
Great facilities, sauna, garden, food served a couple times a day to keep up your energy level. The women there are dressed in lingerie, dresses, bikinis, etc. They are not aggressive and if you like one, you simply approach her and she will get a room key. The rooms there are quite nice and there is quite a variety of rooms available. Anything from king size beds to smaller "cabin" type rooms located outside. The only downsides to this type of venue are that you are stuck with the available talent that paticular day and you are only free to roam the grounds of that paticular place. I think the "terma" type approach or "FKK" type of approach could find a home in CR with the amount of sexo tourism that exists there already.

5) IMO this type of approach would work if it was located within a ten minute ride of the Gulch.

Sure would be nice to see the action pick up in another town. Preferably a beach town other than Jaco. Also, I hope these new "secret" mongering spots don't cost TOO much....atleast the poosie part of the deal. That would be bad.

Some thoughts on a change in venue

IMHO, San Jose is a fun place for a newbie's first or second trip...for a veteran it may last 2 or 3 days before the daily activity of MPs, pick-up bars, strip clubs and casinos becomes routine. In a few trips, one will exhaust all the non-mongering destinations in SJ (e.g museums, Teatro Nacional, Mercado Central, etc.). So, what's left to do in San Jose? It's back to the daily regimen of day-time massages and night time hooker bars...or find a novia (which definitely has its drawbacks)!

I introduced 4 friends (newbies) to CR during my 8 trips. All of them were in awe of the puta-rich environment in SJ, but were itching to see the rest of the country after a few days. We explored the beaches of the Pacific and Caribbean, explored places in the three mountains ranges, wandered through National Parks and visited Panama. All of them reacted favorably to CR with the following sentiments:

1. It's too bad there aren't more available women (like in SJ)
throughout other parts of CR.
2. Definitely planning on returning to CR, but will spend less time in SJ,
and more time touring the rest of the country. (Two of them
indicated they would seek out a traveling chica next time).

Speaking for myself...NO! I like to stay at a place that is comfortable and relaxing..."comfort and relaxation" does not necessarily imply "luxurious." Added luxury, usually means higher costs...a consideration I always factor into my trip planning...YMMV.

I believe that many of us in CRT (as well as non-CRT mongerers) are very budget-conscious when it comes to travel plans. We represent a segment of the tourism market that is very price sensitive and prefers to allocate available resources towards p*ssy and/or adventure than fancy trappings (just read some of the posts on airline fares, room rates and chica negotiations).

The "Sportsmens Lodge" and "Key Largo" models work well for me...not too aggressive, yet, not too subtle. It helps maintain the fantasy of meeting a "nice girl in a public place" who wants to f*ck me.

A terma-type approach may work, but I was thinking more along the lines of the "Black Beard's" type of adult resort. Although I have never visited this place, I have read about "Black Beard's" located in Puerto Plata, DR. Based upon what I have read, this adult resort caters to the single male traveler/adventurer and open-minded couples. It is situated on a beach along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. The resort has a pool, restaurant, bar and nicely appointed rooms starting at $40 - $50 per day. "Black Beard's" provides quick and easy access to a wide range of activities including fishing, golf, sailing and scuba diving. Apparently, it attracts a bevy of P4P chicas who hang out at the pool, bar or beach throughout the day (and evening). If what I am reading is true, then this is not only an ideal, affordable destination for meeting chicas...but other diversions appealing to the single, adventurous male as well.

No, in my opinion, your dream facility should not be located in the gulch, yet, still afford easy and quick access to and from the gulch (no more than 1 1/2 - 2 hours away). An inexpensive shuttle service from the gulch to the location (and back) would help make this dream accommodation an attractive alternative for "day trippers," too.

On first glance, it appears that a site in or near Jaco would fit the criteria for a "Black Beard"-type resort. Jaco is reasonably close to the gulch and airport...and provides sufficient opportunities for a broad range of non-mongering activities to keep the single male entertained. Although I prefer the ecclectic, laid-back paradise of the southern Caribbean, the 4-hour trip may be a bit too far from the gulch and airport for the anxious single male traveler (not to mention the traveling chicas).

I hope my input provides an enterpreurial spirit with some food for thought! :twisted:

I have to aggree with Blue Devil that a place the nature of Blackbeards in Domincan Republic on the coast would do very well. For thsoe who haven't been to Blackbeards a breif description. It is a beach hotel with bar restaurant with a steady flow of available independent chicas from 10 to 11 AM until Midnight or after with set prices which are reasonable. Large Pool and giant hot tub with frequent hottub parties that get quite wild.
Something like the Termas in Brazil or Banos Turcos in Peru would do well but would have a hard time drawing locals because of costs involved and difficulty competeing with massage places for price.
I myself have chosen to veture to different places as every country has some differnt concepts and approaches and a different scene to some degree.rbc100

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. Note that the reference to a "more luxurious" room was not actually referring to a hotel room per se, but rather a short-time room something along the lines of Motel Eden, though probably not as large or elaborately equipped.

There's also a place here in LA called Splash that rents out private rooms equipped with jacuzzis, mattresses, bathrooms and showers. Each room features a different theme - be it "The Jungle" or "The Roman Bath", etc., and some have open skylights. This kind of setting is certainly nicer than what is currently offered at any of the MP's or bars in CR.

Basically you enter a place with different huts. Each has a nice bar and sofas. the ladys come in wearing white doctors robes then disrobe to lingere. You make a selection then head to a room. I have been in the space room, the Japanese room and a few others ... is a nice touch
